All exchange visitors in J-1 and J-2 status are required to have and maintain health insurance coverage for the entire period of the program.  Even if the J-1 or J-2 is 在美国以外.S. for part of the time, exchange visitors must remain covered. 保险 must meet standards dictated by the U.S. Department of State (see below) and you must provide evidence of health insurance coverage immediately upon your arrival to the U.S.
