申请过程完全在线进行. 申请人必须提交圣何塞州立大学 大学,通过 加州申请, your application documents along with your application fee. 申请截止日期 提交日期为2月1日. Incomplete applications cannot be considered for admission.

MFA申请要求

1. 写作样本

The writing 样本, the most heavily weighted comp一个nt of the application, should comprise no more than 25 pages of writing in the 类型 in which you are applying (fiction, 非虚构或诗歌). Please indicate the 类型 on the first page of the writing 样本. The writing 样本 should include original 工作 that demonstrates your talents 还有作为作家的兴趣. Do not send collaborative 工作, such as edited pieces for newspapers, because these might not accurately represent your own 工作. 散文应该 be double-spaced, and all writing 样本s should be set in 12 pt. 类型.

2. 个人陈述

In no more than three pages, tell us about your ambitions as a writer — the kinds of subjects or themes you're drawn to, writers or movements you've found influential, your strengths and weaknesses, or anything else that might give us a sense of your 工作. Explain how your writing 样本 gives evidence of your interests and goals. Also please discuss your goals for your writing during your time as an MFA student. The Statement should be double-spaced and set in 12 pt. 类型.

3. 三封推荐信

Your letters of recommendation should come from current or former professors, editors, or individuals who can comment on your academic 工作 and creative potential. 信 should be written on faculty or professional letterhead. 按照 the online application to provide the contact information for your recommenders (evaluators). You may submit your application before your recommenders upload their letters.

三封推荐信是 要求. You can request these letters through the Program Materials (Quadrant 4) of your 加州州立大学申请. Be sure to follow the detailed instructions.

4. 官方成绩单

All mailed transcripts must be sealed and unopened to be accepted as official documents. If your university offers official electronic transcripts, we will also accept this 交货方式. If you are currently an undergraduate student at 菠菜网lol正规平台, you do not have to submit 菠菜网lol正规平台 transcripts with your 研究生 School application.

Submit transcripts from ALL schools attended (even if you did not get your degree). Transcripts from any transfer schools and study abroad programs must be submitted. If still enrolled in your Bachelor's program, submit a copy of your transcript showing 正在进行的课程. If admitted, another official transcript with proof of graduation 是必需的.

5. 相关领域学分

Applicants should have an undergraduate major or minor in 英语 or Creative Writing, or a minimum of 12 credit hours in literature and/or creative writing, with a grade 平均分3分.0或以上. These requirements can be customized by the MFA director 就个人而言.

6. 研究生院申请

Like most universities, you must apply for admission as a graduate student when you 申请创意写作课程. Failure to complete this application can delay 验收. GRE scores are not 要求 for 进入创意写作课程.
